Operational Recommendations & Maintenance

The normal operation of a telescopic cylinder consists of regular lifting of a tipper body to progressively empty its load. A tipping system is solely a lifting device; under no circumstances should it be used to stabilize or guide the tipper body.

• System Protection: Always protect the hydraulic circuit using an appropriately set relief valve and a high-purity oil filter.
• Circuit Purging: Ensure all air is bled from the hydraulic circuit and cylinder before initial operation.
• No Mechanical Stop: Do not use the tipping system as a mechanical hard-stop at maximum extension.
• Resting Gap: In the stowed (lowered) position, ensure a gap of at least 20mm to 30mm remains between the tipper body and cylinder. Never allow the body weight to rest on the cylinder.
• Storage & Cleaning: Apply protective grease to the cylinder rod before extended storage. Protect the cylinder shaft and trunnions during high-pressure steam cleaning.

Safety Procedures & Risk Prevention

Before initiating any tipping procedure, verify the following checklist:

• The ground surface is firm, stable, and completely flat.
• The payload is within vehicle limits and evenly distributed across the trailer bed.
• The working perimeter is completely clear of bystanders and overhead obstacles.
• Tyre pressures are correctly set across all wheels.
• Pay attention to sticky loads (e.g., wet soil, clay): Strong load adhesion can offset the center of gravity and cause vehicle rollover.
