Standard double acting hydraulic cylinders
A standard double acting hydraulic cylinder uses hydraulic pressure to extend and retract. This collection covers eight bore/rod sizes, from 25/16 to 80/50. Compare the cylinder ends and mounting requirements before selecting the stroke.
What does Standard mean?
This series has plain ends without attached eyes or clevises. The mounting arrangement must be matched to your installation. Standard does not mean that a cylinder fits every machine without modification. Check the technical drawing and required mounting components before ordering.
Choose your bore and rod size
The size indicates the bore and rod diameter in millimetres: 50/30 means a 50 mm bore and a 30 mm rod. The bore is not the outside diameter of the cylinder tube. Open a size to compare the listed models. A larger diameter alone does not establish suitability for a machine or load.

How to select a standard cylinder
- Mounting: compare both cylinder ends with your installation. Any end fittings and their attachment must suit the cylinder. Have required modifications assessed beforehand.
- Stroke and overall length: stroke is the rod travel. Check the retracted and extended lengths. In the drawings, D is the stroke and E is the overall cylinder length. E is not the centre-to-centre distance of fittings that have yet to be added.
- Bore and rod diameter: compare both diameters with the required pushing and pulling forces and the available system pressure. Do not select on stroke alone.
- Ports and working pressure: check the thread type, port size and permitted working pressure of the selected model. Hoses and couplings must also suit the system.
- Clearance: check the entire movement and the space around the cylinder, mounts and hose connections.
Select the correct variant on the product page before comparing its drawing and specifications with your machine. Have missing dimensions or unclear mounting details checked before ordering.
Working pressure and maximum pressure
Standard working pressure is 180 bar; maximum pressure is 250 bar. The permissible pressure in your application also depends on buckling load and mounting. Do not automatically use maximum pressure as continuous working pressure.

Frequently asked questions
Does a standard cylinder fit every machine?
No. Standard is a series designation. Mounting, length, stroke, diameters, ports and working pressure must match the application.
Is matching the stroke enough to select a replacement?
No. Cylinders with the same stroke may have different lengths, diameters, ports and ends. Compare the full drawing and selected variant.
Can I add an eye or clevis myself?
Do not assume any end fitting will suit. The cylinder design, connection and load determine the mounting options. Have these checked beforehand; this page is not a welding or installation guide.
Can these cylinders be used for steering?
This series is intended for general force and movement functions. For steering, select a dedicated steering cylinder matched to the machine.
