How to Install Lower Link Hooks on Your Tractor

What do you need?
To install new lower link hooks, you'll need:

• 2x lower link hooks

• 2x quick-release balls

Step 1: Remove the lift arms

Detach the lift arms from the tractor and place them on a workbench. Measure the current mounting angle of the linkage balls – this will be important for correctly welding the new hooks. Mark the position carefully.

Step 2: Cut or grind off the old balls

Wear proper safety gear: gloves, goggles, workwear, and hearing protection. Carefully cut, saw, or grind the old balls off the lift arms.

Step 3: Weld the new lower link hooks

Use a welding mask and appropriate protection. Weld the hooks in place at the same angle as the original balls. Double-check alignment after the first weld before proceeding with the second.

Step 4: Finish and remount the lift arms

Allow the hooks to cool, debur, degrease and paint them to match the lift arms. Then reattach the arms to your tractor and connect your implements using the quick-release balls.
