Description

This manually operated hydraulic rotary valve changes the direction of oil flow. Choose BSP 3/8″ or 1/2″ female ports. The technical drawing specifies a maximum pressure of 315 bar and a maximum flow rate of 90 l/min for both versions.

Operation and hydraulic diagram

The valve has four ports: P, T, A and B. The drawing shows three positions. The two end positions reverse the connections to A and B, allowing the direction of a suitable hydraulic cylinder or motor to be changed.

Position Connections
End position 1 P to A; B to T
Centre position P to T; A and B blocked
End position 2 P to B; A to T

In the centre position, P and T are connected while A and B are blocked. Check that this function suits your hydraulic circuit. This valve does not divide flow between two consumers in a fixed ratio.

Application and installation

  • Check the drawing, mounting points and clearance for the lever.
  • Connect the hoses according to the port markings and hydraulic diagram.
  • Depressurise the system before installation and keep connections clean.
  • Check connections and operation before putting the system into service.

Frequently asked questions

Does the 1/2″ version have a higher maximum flow rate?

No. Both SPH390053 and SPH390054 are rated at a maximum of 90 l/min and 315 bar in the drawing. The port size differs.

Are all ports blocked in the centre position?

No. A and B are blocked, but P and T are connected. See the hydraulic diagram.
