Description

Repair a compatible double-acting hydraulic cylinder with a replacement hydraulic cylinder piston from Spare Parts Holland. These replacement piston assemblies are supplied with fitted seals for the selected size.

Which piston fits your hydraulic cylinder?

40/25 means a 40 mm cylinder bore and a 25 mm piston rod. Also compare the piston mounting bore, piston thickness, seal profiles and attachment to the rod.

The piston mounting bore ØA is a separate dimension from the piston rod diameter. For 40/25, the rod diameter is 25 mm and the drawing specifies ØA = 20 mm. Compare both dimensions to check fit.

For a hydraulic top link, the category alone does not identify the correct piston. Check the cylinder construction and drawing. For other makes, all mounting and sealing dimensions must also match.

Compare Type 1 and Type 2

Type 1: the drawing specifies mounting bore ØA, outside diameter ØB and piston thickness C. This applies to 32/20, 40/25, 50/30, 60/30, 63/35 and 60/40.

Type 2: for 70/40 and 80/40, the drawing also specifies recess diameter ØD and recess depth E. Compare this recess with the original piston.

Installation & Maintenance

Depressurize the hydraulic system completely before dismantling the cylinder. Examine mating surfaces, seals and the cylinder bore. Follow the original cylinder manufacturer's repair procedure and use suitable installation tools.

Frequently asked questions

Does the piston fit every cylinder of the same bore/rod size?

All mounting dimensions, the attachment to the piston rod and the seal profiles must match. A size such as 40/25 or 60/40 alone does not establish fit.

What is the difference between Type 1 and Type 2?

Type 1 uses dimensions ØA, ØB and C. Type 2 also specifies recess diameter ØD and depth E. The 70/40 and 80/40 versions are Type 2.

Is a complete hydraulic cylinder supplied?

You receive the selected piston and matching seals. The complete cylinder, piston rod and cylinder head are not included.
